Beauty in the Burn - The Papoose Fire Paintings
In mid-June of 2013 wildfires came near the Creede area where I live. For three weeks we live each moment checking the news and internet sources to find the latest reports. In our area over 110,000 acres were affected. it was devastating to our town's economy and the landscape in some areas is permanently changed.
When the smoke cleared I began a series of paintings on the burn. I plan to continue working on this series and hope that the inspiration continues.
